Reflecting on the past year, one of my highlights is witnessing the development of drum circle sessions within my role at Carers Manchester. These sessions are specifically designed for unpaid carers and the individuals they care for. I took the initiative to establish these sessions, driven by the belief that a combination of free-form drumming, physical movements, vocal expression, reflection of their caregiving journey, and relaxation exercises could offer meaningful support to these dedicated carers.

It was so good to let go of my carer role/persona and discover my dormant creativity through the rhythms, experimenting with drums, dancing, singing, then sharing emotions and feelings.
